Evidence of God's Goodness

Leslie: This is Seeking Him with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: God is good. We may know that intellectually, but we don’t always really believe it.

Woman: If God is good, then why can’t I get pregnant?

Nancy: Doubting God’s goodness was at the heart of the very first temptation. Satan implied the question, "If God is good, why would He tell you not to eat the fruit of that tree?"

But if we go back to the first two chapters of Genesis, we see how good God really was. We see how many blessings He gave Eve to enjoy, while prohibiting only one thing.

Satan continues to lie to us today, focusing on the one thing we think we need while we ignore the overwhelming evidence of God’s goodness all around us.

Why don’t you try making a list of all the ways God has blessed your life? And remember the words of Psalm 145:9: “The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.”
