Fully Human
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: If you’ve grown up hearing the Christmas story all your life, you might find yourself reading certain passages too quickly.
(reading quickly) “And while they were there the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son . . .”
Nancy: Would you slow down this Christmas season and meditate on the incredible story of God made flesh? For instance, spend some time focusing on the humanity of Christ—the fact that He was fully human, conceived in the physical womb of a young woman.
“Before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph . . .”
Nancy: Jesus was born as a baby in time and space.
“And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes . . .”
Nancy: He even suffered physically.
“He was circumcised at eight days.”
Nancy: If Jesus hadn’t come in the flesh, our faith would be in vain. Don’t forget to spend some time this Christmas thanking Jesus for taking on a physical body.
