Man: I bring a lot of skills to the Lord’s work. Let’s see, I know Greek. I’m pretty familiar with Hebrew. I’ve learned how to do proper exegesis of a text. I’m culturally aware and able to speak in the language of today. I know how to sing. I can play the piano. I was . . .
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: God can definitely use our natural gifts and abilities. But those things don’t guarantee usefulness. Here’s what God does require: Brokenness.
We need to rely on Him and not on our own abilities. Moses had lots of contacts in the royal court of Egypt. He had a high position, a reputation, and talent. But Moses lost it all, spending forty years in the desert, learning to rely on God alone. Then he became useful for service.
Do you want the power of God to flow through you? Do you want to be useable in His hands? Then remember: God uses things and people that are broken.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
