Grace to Obey

Man: I never thought I’d be able to talk with my former employer. I’d stolen a lot of money from the company, and a few years later, God really convicted me. So I drove ten hours and found my old boss. I confessed everything.

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: God’s call to repentance may not always be a pleasant experience. We obey not only through our own ability, but through God’s grace. Is there something God’s calling you to do, but you just don’t think you can do it? You can’t. But if you just ask God for His grace and His help, it’s amazing what He will do through you.

Think of Hebrews 4 that says, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Man: I never would have been able to confess it if it wasn’t for God’s strength and power to help me.

Nancy: God gives us grace to obey when we humble ourselves and draw near to Him.
