The Heavy Hand
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Before our hearts can be revived, we’ve got to get honest about our need.
Leslie Basham: This is Seeking Him with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
Nancy: The Bible tells us that for nearly a year, David, the king of Israel, lived with God’s convicting Spirit pressing down on his soul. David had committed adultery and then covered up his sin.
Listen as he describes the emotional and even physical effects of his deceit in Psalm 32.
Man: For when I was silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer
Nancy: Are you feeling the heavy hand of God convicting you of some issue in your life? God’s Word assures you that you can find freedom.
Man: I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,’ and you forgave the iniquity of my sin (v. 5).
Nancy: What incredible freedom there is when we get honest and start seeking Him!
