Holiness and Intimacy
Teen: I went to that party right after my parents said not to, but I haven’t been able to look my mom in the eye since.
Woman: It was such a little lie to my husband. It was just about a credit card bill, but I feel so far away from him. I think he feels it too.
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Our actions can keep us from getting close to the people we love—including God.
Unholy, unrepentant people can’t be in fellowship with a holy God. I can’t cling to my impatience, gluttony, laziness, or moodiness and have fellowship with God at the same time.
Second Corinthians 6:14 says, “What fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?”
If you know you’re in the darkness in some area of your life, there’s good news. Fellowship with God is restored when we turn from our sin, trust the blood of Christ for forgiveness, and walk with Him in holiness.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
