Honest Questions
Nancy Leigh DeMoss: If you take a look at characters in the Bible, you’ll quickly discover something: a lot of them brought honest, tough questions to God.
“Why do you make me see iniquity? (Habakkuk.)”
Nancy: Take the prophet Habakkuk, for instance. His book opens with a series of questions.
“Why do you idly look at wrong?”
Nancy: Sometimes we act as if it’s wrong for Christians to have questions. But the truth is, all of us have them. Would you do what Habakkuk did? Take your honest questions before God. He won’t necessarily answer each one. If you knew every answer, you wouldn’t need God.
But He will reveal Himself to you in greater ways. It’s what He did for Habakkuk. And it’s what He can do for you, offering a broader, eternal perspective that lets you go on in faith without knowing all the answers.
