Honest with Myself
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Here are some questions to help us evaluate whether we are being honest with ourselves. First, are there truths in God’s Word that we preach to others . . .
Woman: Drunkenness is just a form of idolatry. It’s looking to something other than God to get us through.
Nancy: . . . but we don’t practice those truths ourselves?
Woman: Oh man, where is my coffee? I can’t function when caffeine-deprived.
Nancy: Do we ignore God’s Spirit or His Word when we are convicted of sin?
Man: Well, that preacher was really stepping on some toes this morning, wasn’t he? Well, but enough of that. Where should we eat?
Nancy: Do we have an inflated view of our gifts and our value to God and others?
Woman 2: I shouldn’t go on vacation. The church planning committee won’t get anything done if I’m gone.
Nancy: Galatians 6:3 says, “If anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself." Turning from deception and telling ourselves the truth is one of the first steps to revival. With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
