Humility in Ministry
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Think about the difference between proud people and humble people as it relates to ministry. Proud people feel confident in how much they know . . .
“Did you know that Pastor holds a trichotomist view of man? And he claims to know the Scripture!”
Nancy: . . . but humble people realize how much they have to learn.
“I’ll be reading the Bible the rest of my life and will never learn all there is to know.”
Nancy: Proud people have a feeling that “this organization is privileged to have me and my gifts.”
“If I left, it would take at least two or three people to replace me.”
Nancy: Humble people have a heart attitude that says,
“I don’t deserve to have any part in this ministry.”
Nancy: Remember the words of James: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up” (4:10).
