Hungry
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: You probably associate Christmas with some favorite foods, I know I do. But these words in Mary’s Magnificat should make us wonder: What are we truly hungry for?
Mary: “He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.”
Nancy: Mary revealed her own heart’s true hunger in how she responded to the angel Gabriel’s message after he had told her what God had planned for her life.
Mary: “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”
Nancy: How many blessings do we miss because we try holding on to our lives, our reputations, our rights, our time, our convenience, our comfort? Those things are not what we need most. What we truly need are the “good things” He gives to all those who are hungry for what matters most. Hungry for Him.
