I Am Needy
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Some people seem to exude self-confidence, but real security comes from putting all our confidence in God. Scripture tells us about a man named David who seemed to have it all together. He was an incredible warrior, a battle commander; he’d killed a lion, a bear, and even a giant. If anyone had the right to be self-confident, it would seem to be David.
But David knew that everything he had came from God. A song he wrote, Psalm 86, gives us some examples of the way David leaned on God. He said, “Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. . . Be gracious to me, O Lord, for to you do I cry all the day. . . Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace."
Just like David, you and I need God’s grace for everything we do. Have you cried out to Him for help today? When you do, He’ll hear and give you His grace.
