Living Under Providence

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: One evening, Robert and I were invited to dinner at an upscale restaurant. Servers brought our meals on plates covered in shiny domes. When the lids were lifted, there were lots of oohs and aahs. The appetizing meals before us were exactly what we had ordered.
The problem is, when it comes to real life, what’s on our plates under those shiny covers, is often something we didn’t order, or might not even want.
You might think, Why should I trust a God who doesn’t give me what I want? But trusting God means trusting His providence. What we see in front of us is a limited perspective. But God goes before us and makes provision for everything we will need in every circumstance—before it even happens.
The God who made this world is the Master Chef who’s serving up exactly what we need. Embrace His providence today.
