Mary Was an Influential Woman
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: What's your first impulse when someone comes to you with a big problem? The best thing we can do is to point the person to Jesus. That’s what Mary of Nazareth did. She was at a wedding, and the host ran out of wine. Instead of trying to solve the problem herself, she pointed the servants to Jesus. “Do whatever he tells you to do,” she said (John 2:5).
Mary used her influence to encourage them to obey and follow Christ. Jesus performed His first miracle that day, and the servants saw Him turn water into wine. Mary’s influence allowed them to see Christ’s ability.
When friends come to us with their problems, we don’t need to solve every issue. Like Mary, we need to point them to Jesus and say, “Do whatever He tells you to do.”
Are you pointing those around you to Christ to solve their problems? Who could you influence today to trust and obey the Lord?
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
