Mary Was an Undeserving Woman
“I’ve only been doing children’s ministry for twenty years. I can’t see why they wouldn’t want my opinion!”
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: When we think we have something to offer God, we’re not very useful to Him. But when we see that we’re really undeserving, we can be used to do great things.
“If God really wants me to do this, I will. But He’ll have to help me.”
Nancy: Look at Mary of Nazareth. God didn’t choose her because she was worthy to be used by Him. An angel said to her, “Greetings, you who are highly favored!”
That phrase could be translated, “You who are graciously accepted.” If any of us is to be accepted by God, it’ll be because of grace—not because of anything we’ve done. Mary marveled at God’s grace in choosing her.
Have you done anything effective or useful recently? If so, it’s all because of God’s grace. Have you thanked Him for it?
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
