Memorization
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: When I talk with someone who’s discouraged or depressed, I often ask them, “Are you memorizing Scripture?” Now, that’s not a magic formula to make problems go away, but memorizing God’s Word has power to change our perspective about whatever issues we’re facing.
Child 1: “Be ye kind one to another.”
Child 2: “Give thanks to the Lord that made great lights—sun by day, moon and stars by night.”
Child 3: “But God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for our sins.”
Nancy: If you’ve never memorized Scripture before, I suggest starting small and learn just a couple of verses a week.
Child 4: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart.”
Nancy: I’m confident that you’ll find that God’s Word will start to influence all of your thinking.
Child 5: “The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.”
