The Middle of Your Story
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: You can’t understand the storyline of a novel by randomly opening it to a page somewhere in the middle.
Woman: (reading Silas Marner) And it was really a pleasure—from the first opening of the bandbox, where everything smelt of lavender and rose-leaves, to the clasping of the small coral necklace that fitted closely round her little white neck . . .
Nancy: To get the whole story, you have to read the whole book.
Dannah Gresh: This is Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, co-author of You Can Trust God to Write Your Story.
Nancy: There are pages and chapters in our lives that seem to make little sense. In the moment, they may even seem heartless and cruel, certainly not the kind of story a good God would write. But in the Bible we discover the backstory. We see how our stories fit into God’s beautiful narrative of redemption.
If you’re struggling in the middle of your story today, anchor your soul to this truth: God has already written the ending! His plan cannot be thwarted, and in the end the story He writes will be far better than anything we ever imagined.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
