More Like a Man
Nancy Leigh DeMoss: In a well-known song from the movie My Fair Lady, Professor Higgins complains about the differences between men and women.
“I remember that part. He says, ‘Why can’t a woman be more like a man?’”
Nancy: In the movie, we wonder whether the professor will learn to appreciate the differences between himself and the character Eliza.
God’s design for men and women is far more satisfying than the relationship portrayed in that movie. Instead of a woman becoming more like a man or a man becoming more like a woman, God created us to be different. And those differences aren’t meant to compete with one another but to complete each other. When God created male and female, the Bible tells us, “it was very good.”
Have you embraced your uniqueness as a woman? Ask God to help you complement the men around you so that He can be glorified as you and they live out your unique designs.
