Morning Choices
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: What do you do early in the morning?
Woman 1: I just hit the snooze button.
Nancy: In Genesis 28 we read that Jacob rose early in the morning to make a vow to God at Bethel.
Man 1: I usually flip on the news—you know, check the weather.
Nancy: God told Moses, “Be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto Mount Sinai.”
Woman 2: Morning? What’s that?
Nancy: David rose early in the morning for worship, prayer, and meditation.
Man 2: The first thing I do is get coffee in the bloodstream!
Nancy: On the first Easter Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to the tomb where Jesus had been buried. And that’s where they met the risen Lord!
You can meet Him, too. And there’s no better time than the first, uninterrupted minutes of every day.
Tomorrow morning, would you consider setting aside the first moments of your day to get alone with God in His Word and in prayer? Remember, you don’t have to go through your day alone.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
