"My Sin's Not That Bad"

Woman: I make some mistakes, but I don’t know if I’d say I sin. I’m not that bad.

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Do you realize Eve could have said the same thing? After all, she didn’t leave her husband; she didn’t curse God or say He didn’t exist. All she did, when you think about it, was to take one bite out of something God told her not to eat. What was the big deal?

It was a big deal because Eve’s act was rebellion against God. We need to remember that. We think of certain sins as “big.” Things like murder, adultery, or robbery. Compared to other people who commit those kinds of sins, we may think, I’m not so bad. But every sin, whether it seems big to us or not, is rebellion against God.

When we realize that every sin is a big deal, it makes God’s grace and the blood of Christ all the more special to us.

Why not spend some time today asking God to show you if there’s any sin keeping you from seeking Him?
