Noon
Nancy Leigh DeMoss: One hundred and fifty years ago, our nation was deeply affected by revival. It spread across the country and even to other parts of the world. Most historians trace the beginning of this far-reaching revival to one prayer meeting in New York City at noon. Jeremiah Lanphier invited businessmen to pray on their lunch hour, and that act of prayer proved to be very powerful.
Now there’s a chance for all of us to get involved in another powerful prayer meeting. The National Day of Prayer Task Force is inviting you to pray for our upcoming elections. Would you form a group of two or more people and pray at noon each Thursday through November 4?
Our nation needs godly wisdom in choosing a leader. Even more important, we need repentance, humility, and brokenness before the Lord. We need God to visit His people in revival. We need to pray.
