Obedience and Love
Man: Well, the company accountant told me that we hadn’t been charged tax on a duty transfer. The mistake saved us $20,000. He wanted to know what to do.
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: In situations like this we show whether our love for God is authentic.
Man: Well, I knew what was right, but I told the accountant I’d give him a decision in the morning.
Nancy: Obedience is one of the most important ways that we can show our love for God to a watching world.
In John 14 Jesus says, ”If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word.” He contrasts that by saying, “Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words.”
It’s easy to dress the part, act the part, and talk the part of being a Christian. But obedience is how we show that we truly love Christ.
Man: Well, of course, I apologized to the accountant for not doing the right thing immediately. Of course, we paid the money. I had to do what was right.
