Pray for Leaders
Nancy Leigh DeMoss: The apostle Paul once gave some instructions to a younger pastor. We can read those instructions in 1 Timothy 2:1. Paul says, “I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”
Paul urges prayer for everyone but makes a special point of praying for those in high positions, whose influence and decisions set the course that thousands more will follow.
The National Day of Prayer Task Force is calling us to the type of prayer we read about in 1 Timothy. They’re asking us to pray for the future leaders of our nation. During this important election season, groups are meeting all across the country each Thursday at noon to pray for thirty minutes. Would you join with them?
