Quick Repentance
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: No matter how God gets our attention, the important thing is to respond immediately.
Woman: I was headed toward divorce. A good friend kind of grabbed me and got my attention. She looked me in the eye and helped me to realize the path that I was on. That was the turning point. It was hard, but I made a lot of changes.
Nancy: Listen, the best time to respond to God in repentance is the moment we’re convicted of sin. If we delay and resist His Spirit, it gets harder and harder to humble ourselves and repent.
Jesus spoke about being quick to repent in Matthew 5 when He said, “If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”
Today, let’s be ready to respond if God brings conviction of sin.
