Religious and Foolish
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Proverbs 7 tells the story of a seductive woman. A young man makes his way to the home of this foolish woman and ends up spending the night. Here’s something interesting—this foolish woman appears to be religious. In the process of enticing him, she tries to spiritualize her immorality by talking about offering sacrifices.
I get letters that tell me the same thing is happening today. A lot of women in the church are making foolish choices. For instance, one woman wrote that in a counseling session her pastor admitted that he was attracted to her, and even though she knew it was dangerous, she continued to give him a haircut and massage once a month.
Are you foolishly putting yourself or someone else in a position where you will be tempted to sin? If so, do what I urged that woman to do—run. Flee temptation. God will give you grace to make the wise choice.
