Strangers and Aliens

Topics: Surrender

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Are you one of those people who likes to have everything all figured out?

Woman: So if he retires at 67 and I retire at 65… with my 401K and his pension, and our HSA’s, we should be good… at least ‘til age 99. After that, I guess one of us will need to… go be with Jesus!

Nancy: I’m all for planning ahead, but sometimes God throws a wrench in those plans. That’s what happened to Abram, who came to be known as Abram the Hebrew. The word Hebrew means “stranger” or “alien.” God had called him out of the security of his home for the promise of a new land. For years Abram lived on the road, trusting that God’s promise would one day come true. Maybe God will upend your plans today to remind you that this world is not your home. Rather than get upset when things don’t exactly go your way, how about focusing on how God may be trying to direct your life?
