Tearing a Hole in the Roof
Woman: Every morning I walk three times around the block. People probably think I’m crazy, but I pray out loud. I pray for my children and my grandchildren and for my great-grandchild.
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: I don’t think that’s crazy at all. In fact, it reminds me of the four friends that we read about in Mark 2. They had a paralytic friend and knew Jesus could heal him, so they tore a hole in the roof where He was teaching and lowered him down on his bed.
Maybe you’re burdened for a friend or family member who’s in great need. Faithful, fervent prayer on their behalf is like pulling pieces off that roof—continuing to pray no matter what barriers of helplessness, doubt, or fear may be in your way.
If you’re watching someone struggle and you just don’t know what to do, why not spend some time today taking off that roof and bringing your friend to the feet of the Savior through prayer?
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
