The Angels Praise
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Have you noticed that images and stories of angels have been really popular over the last few years? We’ve all seen paintings for sale in gift shops that show angels as chubby babies with wings, but God didn’t create angels so that we could have cute decorations. He created them to be powerful agents of His will.
In Psalm 103 all of creation is told to bless the Lord. At the end of that passage the psalmist says, “Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you servants who do his will” (vv. 20-21).
You can see here that angels are mighty and powerful. But they apply their strength to God’s glory and to bring Him pleasure. You and I were created for the same thing. Like the angels, are you living for God’s glory today—using all your strength to do His will?
