The Blueprints
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: If you were to hire someone to build you a house, you’d have certain expectations.
Man 1: Well, you got the job. I’ll send you the blueprints.
Man 2: Blueprints?! Nah; I just sort of make it up as I go.
Nancy: It would be ridiculous for a builder to reject the blueprints. But you know, it’s just as ridiculous when we reject God’s direction for our lives.
God gave Moses detailed directions for building a tabernacle. And the people of Israel followed the blueprints. They wove priestly garments, made linens, set up curtains and veils, lamps and incense—exactly “as the Lord had commanded Moses.” In fact, that phrase is repeated 11 times in the last two chapters of the book of Exodus. Once they obeyed, we read that the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
Do you want the glory of the Lord to fill your life? Your home? Your church? First, you need to obey God’s blueprints—the Bible.
