The Pleasure that Satisfies
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Did you know that God designed us to seek pleasure? That may sound strange because sometimes we equate pleasure with sin. The pleasure is only wrong when we try to find it in the wrong place. We go to food, people, activities, or possessions. But those things can never satisfy the deepest longings in our hearts.
But when we surrender to God, we find the pleasure that truly satisfies. Have you fully surrendered yourself to God? Are you finding your happiness in Him? Listen to these words from Psalm 36:
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures (36:7-8).
In your presence there is fullness of joy, and at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (16:11).
