The Process of Revival
Man:“In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord . . .”
Leslie Basham: This is Seeking Him, with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Isaiah chapter 6 gives us a great model for how to approach God with humble hearts. First, Isaiah saw the Lord in His awesome holiness and majesty.
Man:“I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple.”
Nancy: Then Isaiah was overwhelmed by the depths of his own sin.
Man:“And I said: ‘Woe is me! For I am lost.”
Nancy: Isaiah humbly confessed His sin.
Man:“For I am a man of unclean lips.”
Nancy: God then forgave and cleansed Isaiah.
Man:“Your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”
Nancy: Isaiah’s story illustrates the process of revival.
- First, we become aware of God’s holiness.
- Then we see the depth of our own sin.
- We confess it.
- And God responds with forgiveness.
An awareness of God’s holiness—it’s what happens when we start seeking Him.
