The Repenters Must Repent
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: In the 1970s, Christians in Ceaușescu’s Communist Romania had been ridiculed, receiving the nickname “repenters.” Then one pastor began to tell his people, “It’s time for the repenters to repent.” The people in that congregation entered into a covenant of repentance. They radically changed some of their behavior, and soon people around them began to notice. That whole region was soon ablaze in revival. The influence of those repenters was felt throughout Eastern Europe and the whole world.
Each revival movement in history has involved repentance. But it’s not important just during times of widespread revival; we each need to repent in order to experience personal revival.
Malachi 3:7 says, “Return to me, and I will return to you.” Is God calling you to return, to repent? The best time to respond is right now. It’s time for the repenters to repent.
