Transformed by His Presence

Woman: We adopted Danielle when she was four. Now I just love it when people say, ‘I can tell that she’s your daughter; she looks just like you!’”

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Have you noticed that you start to look and act like the people that you spend time with?

Woman: I think that when you’re close and spend time with each other, it just shows somehow.

Nancy: Since we start to become like the people we spend time with, we’d better choose those people carefully. And we can’t spend time with anyone more important than God Himself.

Moses spent concentrated time in the presence of God. When he came down from Mount Sinai, the Bible says, “He was not aware that his face was radiant” (Ex. 34:29).

The glory of God was being reflected on Moses’ face. The same thing can happen when we spend time in prayer and in Scripture. Our face may not literally glow, but we can reflect His glory in our actions, our words, and even our appearance.

The people around us desperately need to see what God is like. Are we showing them?

With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
