Transformed by the King's Love
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: The Song of Solomon tells the story of a king who decided to find a bride.
Man: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.”
Nancy: To everyone’s surprise, instead of choosing one of the wealthy, educated women of the city, he went out into the country and chose an ordinary peasant girl to be his bride.
The peasant girl was shocked that the king would be attracted to her. She’d been out working in the fields, and her skin was rough and sunburned.
Woman: “Do not stare at me because I am dark.”
Nancy: By the end of the story, that young peasant girl became a lovely, radiant queen. As she spent time alone with her bridegroom, she took on his characteristics.
Do you know that the same thing happens to us when we spend time alone with our heavenly Bridegroom? When we spend time in prayer and in the Word of God, we’re being transformed by Christ’s love.
Have you spent time with your King today?
