Trust or Tyranny
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: We all have a choice between trust and tyranny. We either trust God for everything we need or we become trapped by the things we want.
For example, we can trust God to provide financially for us. But if we don’t trust God, we could become trapped by greed, stealing, cheating, or worry.
We can also trust God to protect us, or we can be overwhelmed by fear, worry, or obsession with weapons or safety.
Here’s another example. We can trust God to be our friend and companion, entrusting all of our relationships to Him, or we can be trapped by possessiveness, lust, and manipulation.
Trusting God protects us from becoming slaves to our own desires. It also prepares us to receive everything we need from God. As it says in Philippians 4: “My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
