Who Shall Ascend?
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: In the 1950s a band of church leaders were praying for revival on the Island of Lewis, just off Scotland. For a year and a half they didn’t see any change.
One night a man stood and read from Psalm 24. “Who may ascend onto the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart.”
This young man pointed out that it was no good for these leaders to pray for revival if they weren’t right with God themselves.
Those leaders knelt and confessed their sin to God. Within a short time, God began to pour out His Spirit in an extraordinary awakening that shook the entire island.
Do you want to see God pour out His Spirit in our day? Don’t wait for others to get right with God. Admit your own sin. God may be waiting for just a handful of His people to repent before He sends the next great awakening.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
