Words of Kindness

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Proverbs 31 gives us characteristics of a virtuous woman, and there’s one particular verse that I always find so convicting. Verse 26 says, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Wow! How often do I speak words that aren’t wise or kind?

When we are kind, though, people really do notice. A young husband once said to me, "One of the greatest things that makes our marriage work is that my wife has a kind spirit, and she speaks kind words."

I know that wife, and I know that kind words don’t come any more naturally to her than they do for me. But the Spirit of God is able to make us kind.

Would people describe you as having kind words? Like this young wife, you can learn kindness through the power of the Holy Spirit. Would you ask Him to make you kind?
