Worship vs. Worry
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: It was a week before Passover, and Jesus was causing all kinds of problems for the religious leaders. First, He drove the money changers and merchants from the temple. Then He healed the blind and lame—people who usually weren’t even allowed in God’s house. And finally, He let the children sing loudly, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”
The Bible tells us when those religious leaders “saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple area . . . they were indignant.”
The children worshiped, but those religious leaders were concerned that things were getting out of their control. The children worshiped, but the religious people were worried about their position and their appearance.
Jesus has done so many wonderful things, and He continues to work in people’s lives. Do you find yourself indignant like those religious leaders? Or are you approaching Him in wholehearted worship like those children?
