NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES

Jesus. No other name holds such power and promise.

Scripture tells us that one day every knee will bow at the name of Jesus. At the sound of His name every tongue will be compelled to declare God’s praise (Phil. 2:9–11). Jesus encouraged us to pray in His name (John 14:13). His is the name you can run to and find sanctuary again and again (Prov. 18:10).

The power of “Jesus” comes from the person of Jesus. Exploring the names of the Savior provides an opportunity to get to know Him better, and the more you know Him, the more you are sure to love Him.

This journal is intended to guide you through an exploration of some of the names of Jesus found in Scripture. As you do, consider the question unique to each name then write a prayer of thanksgiving for how you have seen this name of Christ revealed in your own life.

The goal of this tool isn’t to help you memorize the names of Jesus as if they’re items on your grocery list. This goes beyond an intellectual exercise. Jesus’ names are to be savored. As you spend time meditating on the names of Jesus for the next thirty-two days, may you discover new awe for who He is.

There is none like you, O LORD;
you are great, and your name is great in might.
(Jeremiah 10:6)
