Erin Davis: For the last six weeks, we've been on a journey, exploring what it means to show hospitality. I've seen snow and sand, cities and small towns, newer houses and one-bedroom apartments, figuring out what it means to welcome others in the name of Jesus. All of these experiences made me excited to head home to my little farm.
I hosted a weekly Bible study for women in my home. And ironically, while filming this series, I had to put that study on hold. I missed those women terribly. I'm excited to get back to having a hospitable heart among Jason and the boys and serve alongside them to show hospitality.

I hosted a weekly Bible study for women in my home. And ironically, while filming this series, I had to put that study on hold. I missed those women terribly. I'm excited to get back to having a hospitable heart among Jason and the boys and serve alongside them to show hospitality.
Going home also makes me long for eternity. Jesus is preparing a place for us. He's going to create a new heaven and a new earth by rescuing us from sin and giving us new life. In a sense, He was saying, “You're welcome here.”
Over the last six weeks, I know we've seen many examples of women opening their homes. But to wrap up and review, I'd like us to consider ten reasons to show hospitality. This list is from the final week of the Bible study, You're Welcome Here.
Multiple voices quoting Romans 12:9–21 (CSB) with the list point noted:
Hospitality with confront your selfishness.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good.
Hospitality build unity and community with other believers.
Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters.
Hospitality reflects the hospitable heart of God.
Take the lead in honoring one another. Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord.
Hospitality provides the opportunity to walk close with others.
Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer. Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality.
Hospitality is a practical way to express the love of Christ.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another.
Hospitality can help your children and grandchildren cultivate a love for ministry and a passion for serving other people.
Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Hospitality will help you resist materialism and focus on what lasts.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Give careful thought to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes.
God has commissioned you to reach toward the lost.
If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God’s wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.
The Bible promises rewards for those who practice hospitality.
But if your enemy is hungry, feed him.
If he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
For in so doing
you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.
God commands you to be hospitable.
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
